The fashion shows presented as part of Fashion Prime – 8th Textile, Ready-to-Wear Suppliers and Technologies Expo, organized by İZFAŞ under the hosting of İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, are giving visitors an exclusive first look at the trends set to define the 2026 fashion season. Choreographers, designers and models described the expo as an inspiring platform for the industry, noting that preparations have already begun for IF Wedding Fashion İzmir.
On the second day of the expo, three exclusive runway shows showcased collections created entirely from fabrics supplied by participating exhibitors. In a demonstration of creativity and craftsmanship, some garments were completed live on the runway, with fabrics draped and pinned directly onto the models rather than being pre-stitched.
The first mixed-brand runway show, featuring collections from 17 exhibiting companies, together with a solo presentation by an individual exhibitor, was produced by fashion designer Erkan Yılmaz with choreography by Akif Örük. The day's final fashion show, presenting collections from five exhibitors, was choreographed by Serkan Duman and Gökhan Duman.
Renowned models Özge Ulusoy and Gizem Özdilli, together with other professional models, presented collections highlighting premium lace, innovative fabrics and the latest textile developments, offering visitors an early preview of the trends expected to shape the 2026 fashion season.
An Expo That Inspires the Industry
Designers, choreographers and models agreed that Fashion Prime has become an important source of inspiration for the fashion industry while successfully reflecting the emerging trends of the coming season.
Model Gizem Özdilli, who returned to the Fashion Prime runway for the expo's eighth edition, said:
"It is a wonderful expo and an outstanding organization. Congratulations to everyone who contributed. I am delighted to be part of such a successful event."
"It Is Always a Pleasure to Be on the Runway in İzmir"
Top model Özge Ulusoy expressed her appreciation for returning to Fashion Prime.
"I first attended IF Wedding Fashion İzmir in 2007 or 2008, and since then I have regularly participated in İZFAŞ exhibitions. It is always a pleasure to be in İzmir, to work with the İZFAŞ family and to walk this runway.
Visitor participation has been exceptionally strong this year, which makes us very happy. Events like Fashion Prime are incredibly valuable because visitors first discover the fabrics and then see how they are transformed into fashion designs.
Fashion Prime is almost a preview of IF Wedding Fashion İzmir. The fabrics showcased here will return a few months later as bridal gowns and eveningwear collections. The process stimulates creativity while giving us an early look at the trends that will define the next fashion season."
"The Industry Is Already Preparing for IF Wedding Fashion İzmir"
Fashion designer and show producer Erkan Yılmaz emphasized the growing importance of the event.
"In its eighth year, Fashion Prime has become one of the fashion industry's leading trade exhibitions. The runway programme is unique because exhibiting textile companies create exclusive collections specifically for these shows. An enormous amount of work goes into every presentation.
The exhibitors are extremely pleased with the results. Having been part of Fashion Prime for eight consecutive years, I can clearly see that the standard continues to rise every year.
I would like to thank İZFAŞ and İzmir Metropolitan Municipality for providing us with this outstanding platform. As soon as Fashion Prime concludes, we immediately begin preparations for IF Wedding Fashion İzmir, which will take place in January 2026. It will be an even larger and more spectacular event, with more fashion shows and an exciting programme ahead."
"Fabrics Come to Life on the Runway"
Choreographer Akif Örük highlighted the creative concept behind the runway presentations.
"Every designer and every model involved in these shows has made a tremendous contribution. Twenty-five models took to the runway. Materials that are normally seen only as fabrics come to life here through fashion design. That transformation is incredibly valuable.
Sustainability has become central to the global fashion industry. Eco-friendly fabrics and innovative textile structures are being presented here for the first time, demonstrating that İzmir continues to be a place where the industry's latest developments can be discovered."
"A Team of More Than One Hundred Professionals"
Choreographer Serkan Duman drew attention to the extensive work behind the scenes.
"More than one hundred people contribute to the Fashion Prime runway programme—from hairstylists and make-up artists to models and technical crews. This expo is an essential platform for the fashion industry.
It offers the first clues to the trends that will shape the 2026 season. Designers have the opportunity to discover the lace, fabrics and accessories that will inspire their upcoming collections.
We can confidently say that the first pulse of 2026 fashion is beating here in İzmir at Fashion Prime, thanks to materials sourced from around the world. We sincerely thank everyone who contributed to this outstanding organization and the İZFAŞ team for making it possible."
"The First Step Towards Fashion"
Yeşim Yiğit, Exhibition Director at İZFAŞ, emphasized the close relationship between Fashion Prime and IF Wedding Fashion İzmir.
"This year, IF Wedding Fashion İzmir will be held from 20–22 January 2026. The majority of its exhibitors are already participating in Fashion Prime, and that is something we are very proud of because we know that every product begins its journey here.
Every garment featured on the runway has been created using fabrics supplied by our exhibitors, allowing visitors to see how trend fabrics evolve into finished fashion collections and how these materials can be transformed into commercial products.
We hope Fashion Prime continues to inspire the fashion industry and contributes to the development of future collections."
