Held for the ninth time this year, the fair will provide opportunities to showcase new season collections and develop international business partnerships through fashion shows, design workshops, and the participation of professional visitors from 13 countries.
Organized by İZFAŞ and hosted by İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, Fashion Prime – 9th Textile, Ready-to-Wear Suppliers and Technologies Fair has commenced at Fuar İzmir. Taking place from October 21 to 23, the fair brings together representatives from across the fashion industry, covering every stage from production and design to supply and exports.
The opening ceremony of the fair, which connects bridal and evening wear manufacturers with key suppliers, was attended by Hakan Yıldız, Deputy Chair of the AK Party Group in the İzmir Metropolitan Municipal Council, representing İzmir Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Dr. Cemil Tugay; Selami Özpoyraz, President of the İzmir Chamber of Commerce Assembly; Ömer Gökhan Tuncer, Chairman of the Board of the İzmir Commodity Exchange; and representatives of political parties, chambers, associations, and non-governmental organizations. The fair aims to foster new business partnerships through fashion shows, interactive workshops, and international buyer delegation programs.
Yıldız: İzmir Is a City of Fairs
Highlighting İzmir's pioneering historical role in the exhibition industry, Hakan Yıldız stated that the city's identity as a city of fairs is deeply rooted in its history. Referring to the journey from the İzmir Economic Congress and the Sample Exhibition to the present day, Yıldız emphasized the importance of sector-specific fairs in line with the Türkiye Century vision.
“İzmir is Türkiye's pioneering and leading city in the history of trade fairs. The title ‘İzmir, City of Fairs’ is one that we have historically earned. Considering the Türkiye Century vision introduced by our President, Mr. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, on the 100th anniversary of our Republic, we have set new goals in areas ranging from exports and production to national and domestic industrial development and culture. As İzmir Metropolitan Municipality, we continue to organize fairs and lead sector-specific exhibitions in line with this vision,” Yıldız said.
“İzmir Has No Time to Lose”
Noting that 47 companies are participating in this year's fair, Yıldız stated that the industry gatherings initiated with Fashion Prime would continue with İzmir Bridal Week in the coming months.
Emphasizing that İzmir must achieve the position it deserves in the exhibition industry, Yıldız said, “İzmir has no time to lose. Together with our chambers, non-governmental organizations, and industry representatives, we, as local administrations, aspire to host fairs that will strengthen our economy and provide greater support to our industries, under the leadership of our Mayor, Dr. Cemil Tugay, and the auspices of our President.”
Fabrics and Accessories Take Center Stage on the Runway
As part of Fashion Prime, group and specially themed fashion shows will be held on October 21–22. Featuring designs created using fabrics and accessories supplied by participating companies, the shows will introduce the colors, textures, and design trends of the upcoming bridal and evening wear season.
These events aim to increase the visibility of participating companies' products while demonstrating how fabrics and accessories are transformed into finished fashion designs.
Supporting the Fashion Industry Through Three Complementary Fairs
İZFAŞ positions Fashion Prime, İzmir Bridal Week, and IF Wedding Fashion İzmir as three complementary events designed to strengthen İzmir's manufacturing and design capabilities in the bridal, groom's wear, and evening wear industries.
İzmir Bridal Week, scheduled to take place for the first time on November 24–26, 2026, will focus on showcasing new season collections. IF Wedding Fashion İzmir, which will be held for the 20th time on January 19–22, 2027, will bring together national and international buyers.
Through these three events, İZFAŞ aims to establish an integrated platform encompassing the entire industry value chain, from supply and design to international trade and exports.
Professional Visitors from 13 Countries
Fashion Prime is expected to welcome professional visitors from 13 countries, including the United States, Azerbaijan, the Netherlands, Italy, France, and Spain.
International buyer delegation programs will be organized throughout the fair to help participating companies establish new export connections and enhance İzmir's international visibility in the fashion industry.
